IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE 

COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND SCORING 

It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they enter the correct section as a Junior or Senior.
(Juniors not to have attained their 16th birthday on the 1st January of the current year)
Drawn orders will be issued in advance of the day.
Cross country colours are permitted.
If you do not have cross country colours, normal show gear must be worn.
There will be a special rosette in each section for the most stylish rider.

The competition will consist of a number of show jumps followed immediately by the cross-country section.
There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts.
The whole round will be timed.
Penalties will be given as per the table below.
The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties.
In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to, but under the optimum time with a clear round.
Stop watches are not permitted and the display clock will not be on.

Penalties as follows:

0.4 penalty for every commenced second under or above the optimum time
5 penalties for a knock down
5 penalties for a 1st refusal
10 penalties for 2nd refusal
Third refusal – Elimination
Fall of rider – Elimination
Fall of horse – Elimination
Error of course – Elimination
Retaking obstacle already jumped – Elimination

The judge’s decision is final.

Prize money will be paid out as follows in each section:-
1-4 competitors – 1st prize only
5-9 competitors – 1st and 2nd prize only
10 + competitors – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize only

Prize money must be collected on the day from the show office or will be forfeited

Tophams Cafe will be open all day serving hot food and refreshments

Arena Eventing Series Shows

New Year Arena Eventing Show (14th January 2018)

Summer Arena Eventing Show (5th August 2018)

Autumn Arena Eventing Show  (21st October 2018)

Each show is run over a weekend day.

Classes are run at each show ranging from 60cm up to 1.10m

There will also be a new points system for the 2018 shows with the highest point award going to the leading Horse/Pony/Rider who has attended all the shows.

The points system for the competition will be awarded in each class as follows:-

1st – 10 points

2nd – 8 points

3rd – 6 points

4th – 4 points

5th—2 points

6th—1 point

Horse/pony and rider combinations will be awarded points which will be accumulated at each show that they compete in. A leaderboard will be produced at each show with the overall winner announced at the end of the Autumn Show in October.

Aintree Dressage to Music Camp with Composer Gaynor Colbourn
Wednesday 23rd – Thursday 24th May 2018

The chance to have Gaynor compose a unique musical score and floorplan for your horse, have your test scored by List One Judge Jo Graham, and attend an evening gala demo by Gaynor. Catering to all levels from Prelim upwards.

Event Timetable:

Tuesday 22nd May

Arrive between the hours of 3.30-5.30pm.
6pm induction talk.
Arena familiarisation available for your horse that evening if booked with K Amos.
Evening trip to a nearby pub/restaurant to meet your fellow campers – not compulsory.

Wednesday 23rd May

Some sessions will start at 9am.

A private 45 minute session with Gaynor Colbourn in the main arena. Gaynor will play live along to your horse’s paces composing a unique musical score for you. Plus together you will construct a floorplan to highlight you and your horse to the best of your ability.

The warm up arena will be available for you to warm up before and cool down after your session so you don’t waste any precious lesson time.

You will be able to watch other sessions during the day gaining a great insight into the process behind constructing dressage to music tests at a variety of levels.

If you wish to ride again during the day (maybe do some test practise?) this is available.

Additional unmounted workshops – TBC

Evening trip to a nearby pub/restaurant – not compulsory.

Thursday 24th May

Morning:

A private 30 minute session with Gaynor Colbourn in the main arena. A chance to ride through your test to music for practise making any small tweaks required.

The warm up arena will be available for you to warm up before and cool down after your lesson so you don’t waste any precious lesson time.

Afternoon:

Ride through your test in competition conditions with scoring sheet by List One Judge Jo Graham and  (TBC) an invited panel of trainee/current judges. Prizes and rosettes to winners on a % score basis.

Early evening meal at the EC Café – not compulsory.

Evening:

Free entry to the Dressage to Music Gala Evening Demonstration with Gaynor Colbourn. Join your fellow campers and a ticketed audience to listen to Gaynor play along to the demo riders live and hear her explain the dressage to music process. Watch riders from Novice to Grand Prix level perform on their horses including a range of types eg. warmblood, cob and Iberian.

Friday 25th May

Clean up, pack up and go home happy.

What you get included:

Two private sessions with Dressage to Music Composer Gaynor Colbourn.

Stabling for your horse for two nights on site – including two bales of shavings.

Warm up arena for use before and after sessions.

Parking for your horsebox or car and trailer – camping in these is allowed.

Hook-up for your horsebox is available at extra cost.

NEDZ Showing Series

We are thrilled to announce that NEDZ are now the title sponsors of our Indoor Showing Series. 2018 will see four shows across the season plus a new points system – so get the dates in your diary!

Alongside the introduction of a new show at the Aintree series, next season will also see the start of an exciting points awards competition with the overall winner receiving a selection of branded Nedz goodies, alongside a lesson with one of our sponsored riders.

PETPLAN EQUINE AREA FESTIVAL

We are delighted to once again host the above event.

Petplan Equine Area Festivals are the perfect target for many BD riders looking to have a taste of the big time at a Championship-feel event. The top 10 combinations from each section will go on to one of 8 Area Festival semi-finals, taking place in September and October 2018, from Prelim to Inter II level.

The event will run from Thursday 5th July through to Sunday 8th July 2018.
