ACE your eventing skills with BE this winter!

An exciting new Championships culminating at Aintree Equestrian Centre

Harry Hall One Club – Anyone Can Event (ACE), is an Arena style eventing competition designed to appeal to riders of all ages and experience that gets underway this autumn.

The new series will run throughout the winter months and into spring providing riders with the ideal opportunity to get out, develop their skills and enjoy competing during the shorter daylight hours. A range of height classes will be offered from 70cm up to 1m and will be available to anyone aged 10 upwards, helping to encourage younger riders into the sport.

QUALIFIERS OPEN TO ALL

ACE qualifiers will be run at a range of venues across the UK and will be open to all. Riders will not need to be members of BE to take part in the qualifiers. Qualifying legs will offer competitors the chance to pick up a coveted qualifying ticket for the Championship Finals – offering a fabulous four-day celebration of ACE competition, set to be held this spring at the stunning Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

CLASSES & FORMAT

Riders will compete in their cross country kit, including cross country colours, and will take on a course of show jumps followed by a simulated cross country course of knock-down fences.

Classes will be split into two age ranges, senior and juniors (18-years-and-under). Whilst the qualifiers will see all age groups compete together, the Championship Final will see Juniors (18 years-and-under at the time of the Championships) compete across the latter two days of the Final with Seniors competing across the initial two days.

Senior and Junior riders are permitted to ride both horses and ponies.

CHAMPIONSHIPS & QUALIFICATION

Riders will need to be a British Eventing member to compete in the Championships.

The Harry Hall One Club ACE Championship Finals will take place across the 30th May – 2nd June with Seniors contesting their four national titles (70cm, 80cm, 90cm & 100cm) over the Thursday and Friday (30th-31st May) and Juniors over the weekend of (1st-2nd June).

  • Competitors who qualify for the BE ACE Championships 2024 at Aintree Equestrian Centre will receive a British Eventing ACE Championships 2023 qualification card from the ACE competition Organiser.
  • Qualification is for combinations only. Substitutions will not be possible. If a combination is qualified for all 3 Championships, their Championship entries will be limited to the 2 higher level classes.

For 70cm, 80cm & 90cm classes

  • below 15 starters in a class > top 4 qualify
  • up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 6 qualify
  • 31 or more starters in a class >top 8 qualify

For 100 cm class

  • below 15 starters in a class > top 6 qualify
  • up to and incl 30 starters in a class > top 8 qualify
  • 31 or more starters in a class >top 10 qualify

British Eventing reserve the right to increase the number of qualifying places from ACE
Qualifiers and include those combinations who feature in the Newcomers BE80, BE90 & BE100
Leagues.

Qualifiers for the ACE series will be starting this Autumn with dates below.

The ACE series will run alongside the Arena Eventing series which will culminate at Aston Le Walls.

11. Equine Influenza Vaccination
To protect the health of the other competing horses and the biosecurity of the venue, a valid passport must accompany the horse to all competitions and be produced on request. Failure to comply is a disciplinary offence and will debar the horse from competing at the event for which it has been entered. A horse will not be permitted to

• An initial course of two injections for primary vaccination, not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart, are required before being eligible to compete
• A first booster injection must be given between 150 and 215 days after the second injection of primary vaccination
• Subsequent booster injections must be given at regular intervals of not more than 12 months, commencing after the first booster injection
• The most recent booster injection must have been given within six calendar months +21 days prior to the horse competing
• The full course or booster must have been administered at least seven days before arriving at the competition
The vaccination record(s) in the horse’s passport, must be completed, signed and stamped line by line, by an appropriate veterinary surgeon (who is neither the owner nor the rider of the horse). For those competing under FEI rules, please refer to FEI rules.
The responsibility to comply with this rule lies with the competitor, who should consult with their veterinarian.
Horses being found without adequate and up to date vaccinations will not be allowed to compete and will be barred from competing until such a time that they have been given their first and second vaccinations. The registration of any horse found in breach of this rule will be suspended until rectified.

Qualifier Information

National Amateur classes have been created to give amateur BS members an annual National Amateur Final to aim for.  There are 4 different classes at different heights: 85cm, 95cm, 1.05 & 1.10.

The finals are a week along show held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

To qualify riders must jump  5 double clears in a National Amateur Qualifier class, with the same horse at the same height, within a 12 month period, which runs from 1st September- 31st August.

There is a wild card chance to qualify via second rounds, normally held September/October.  To qualify for these a horse and rider must jump a double clear in a National Amateur Qualifier at the relevant height.

There are no restrictions on horses but there are on riders, so that it is restricted to Amateurs.

At the finals there are also Veteran classes, for which the only qualification is the riders age, and additional classes that can only be entered by horse and riders who have qualified for the show.  Meaning a full week of competition is available to all.

At the finals each height has two qualifiers, held over the week, for the Sunday’s Grand Prix Finals.  The final qualifers are 5cm bigger than the qualifers, e.g. the 85cm is 90cm. The top 20 riders from each go through to the final days Grand Prix.
